First Aid

Working under the blazing sun is hazardous for the man working on our church building.A lot of work is done manually, only the big construction companies have machines. Our worker sifted sand by hand and now he has to carry it to the church roof for the mason. All this is heavy tedious work, as he climbs up and down a bamboo ladder.
This afternoon he suddenly felt ill and dehydrated. I quickly made him a drink of sugar and salt WHO recommended ORS or oral re hydration solution. He felt better after taking that and resting and was back to work again. They cannot stop working in bad weather because work means food.

Hi Amrita,

I linked to your blog via the Center for Improved Living, which is an entertaining way of finding new bloggers. I enjoyed reading from your blog very much. I'm afraid I'm not a very good Christian (sometimes I try, sometimes I give up); but I love reading about other people and places and I'll enjoy reading your blog reguarly.

It gets very hot here but probably not the same intensity as there. A lot of the 'field' workers in the orchards & gardens will start early in the morning & work only until the sun is too warm. Too bad this poor worker couldn't do the same.

Thanks so much for the encouragement on my blog! I have added your blog to my 'blogroll' if that's ok with you.

Hi, Amrita -

What's the temperature there today?

Thanks for coming onto my blog and inquiring after my kids. Sara has decided that boys stink at the moment. The ones who were in love with her a few weeks ago are now ignoring her. "Why do they act so wierd, Mom?" I try to explain how boys go through the stage when they sort of stop liking girls temporarily, but this makes no more sense to her than it has ever made to any girl since the beginning of time. I remind her that her little brother still worships her. She rolls her eyes. :)

Sugar and Salt together? That is a strange mix, but I trust that you know what works in your climate. Kudos to your worker who keeps plugging on no matter the circumstance.

Amrita,

How hot is it where you live in India? I will pray for the workers for the next week and will send out prayer requests to my friends to pray also. You are such a special blogger friend in my life. God bless you and thank you again for praying for me.
