Monday Fare

Today I took Mom, Aunt S and Aunt Virginia to the Treasury Office for their pension (social security) work. People at this office were very kind and good. They deal with senior citizens , so I suppose their hearts are soft towards them. The man from the bank has still not given me a receipt for the forms submitted.
This office is on the 6th floor of a commercial complex and I was teasing my old ladies saying I will take you all to to a beauty salon for a make-over. None of them hardly used any make up, except my Mom who put on lipstick when she was young.

On the way back Mama bought a nice cardigan (front open) and a thermal wear. And I bought veggies.
I made Tibetan dumplings called Momos and a hot and sweet vegetable and chicken soup for supper. The Momos have chicken stuffing. you can make them with any kind of meat, cheese, vegetables or sweets.I love them. My friend Dana , friend and colleague from Penn. boasted of being able to eat 3 doz of them at a time.He is huge fellow dad of 4 kids. They go well with hot chutney.(not Dana)
I have some pictures of Momos being prepared at the Handicraft Fair.you can see the traditional Momo steamer and wok.I just use my ordinary utensils, they work well. You can have have steamed or fried. I like them steamed to avoid the oil.

Dear Amrita
just popping in to say hello,
and to congratulate you with your fellow countryman Dr. Rajendra Kumar Pachauri receiving one half of Nobel's Peace Price in Oslo, Norway today. The other half went to Al Gore. Both were rewarded because of their work with environmental pollutions issues.
Most important peace work nowadays, else we'll have no world to bring peace to, very soon.
While Mr. Gore has made a fortune on his peace work, Dr. Pachauri has done most of his work on behalf of the UN, that is on behalf of all of us.
Congratulation, India.
From Felisol

Hello, Dear Lady, It is good to hear you got out and about and enjoyed it. The fellow from the bank needs a reminder perhaps? Perhaps a man, maybe the pasture could attend you. This fellow needs to know you are trustworthy. I would struggle not having receipt.
I am happy to hear you have a new steamer. I struggle getting new dishes but choose to receive them with gratitude. I am so grateful to hear that all of you are well. Say a hello to my MILove. She reads you daily and is quite taken by your blog.

Hi Gudl, Nice visiting your blog and I liked your elves dance so much that I stole it.

Hi Donetta, thank you, yes my Pastor helped me a lot with the bank work. He is my moral support. its just that this particular man gives everyone hard time...he is known for that.

Try making momos, they are very easy to make.Google will give you many recipies. You can make any kind of stuffing.

Momos? Ummm...never tried them before. We had a huge population from Tibet living in Mysore area (especially their settlement near Kushal Nagar, Coorg). Probably I should check it out in my next visit.
