Under the Eye of the Clock

Today I received my copy of Confident Living, a magazine published by Back to the Bible. I grew up with Back to the Bible...from the days of Theodore Epp and Ord Morrow.I found this piece written by Sudhakar Mondithoka of Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh (Central India)

Busy Person 's Version Of Psalm 23

The clock is my dictator. I shall not rest It makes me lie down only when exhausted.

It leads me to deep depression. It hounds my soul.

It leads me in circles of frenzy for activities sake.

Even though I run frantically from task to task, dawn to desk,

I will never get it all done, for my "ideal" is always with me.

Deadlines and my need for approval, they drive me.

They demand performance from me,beyond the limits of my schedule

They anoint my head with migraines.

My in-tray and in-box overflow.

Surely fatigue and time pressure shall follow me all the days of my life,

And I will dwell in the bonds of frustration and desperation forever.

Lord help me to stay close to your Psalm 23 for me and not mine. My Psalm 23 leads to destruction;yours leads me to peace, and all the good things you want me to enjoy in life. Amen.

Thank you Brother Sudhakar

Thanks friends for your comments.Sometimes i need 48 hours in a day. This reminder is so good.

Hi Carol Ann, I don 't know the Orlis. But Warren Weirsbe, Woodrow Kroll, J Vernon McGee, Chuck Swindoll, John MacArthur,Dr. Dobson, Billy Graham and so many more were my favourites over TWR, FEBC and FEBA, also Radio Shri Lanka and our Hindi speakers too.I was tuned to the radio a lot. BBC and VOA, Radio Australia, Deutche (Germany) and what not.Sometimes i listened to USSR too and Korea and China.I used to write to them and get my letters read out on air.BBC read my letters. Real fun.TV is not so good.

Reading that makes me take a deep breath...because I can relate to it so well, and fatigue really does lead to destruction.
Thanks for the reminder..we need to rest in the Lords Psalm and keep it in our hearts always.
I am expecially over tired now since my Mom's passing, yet I stay so busy. It's time to rest...you just confirmed that for me.
