Sunday Blessings- I Know That My Redeemer Liveth

Happy Easter dear friends.

Here is a frangipani flower from our front yard and on the right you can see our Chinese orange tree laden with fruit. These nano oranges are quite sour but you can make marmalade and sweet preserves with them. If you eat them with the skin they dont taste sour.

I have posted a video of Elizabeth Parcells singing I know that my Redeemer Liveth.
Like Job I can say; I know that My Redeemer Liveth and He shall take His stand upon the earth. Even though the worm destroys the body. I know I shall see my God.
Because He lives I can face tomorrow
Because He lives all fear is gone. The sting of death is gone.

Had a great service in the evening. After which we had hot cross buns with tea and snacks.
Yesterday I made tomato and cheese quiche.I just love it and made it after ages. Today I made lamb curry and rice idlis.

A happy and peaceful Easter to you all Amrita!

That was a lovely Good Friday post. We prayed at Mass this morning for all Christians in India - Fr. J said there had been some trouble.

Keep safe.

What a perfect song for Easter. Thanks for sharing what you had for dinner. The lamb curry sounds great. I can't remember having ever eaten lamb before. We had our typical family Easter dinner - ham, mashed potatoes with gravy, bread stuffing, pudding/pineapple salad, cranberry sauce, and muffins.

Yum I want to roast some Lamb! Beautiful plants. I am glad for your time of fellowship and worship. I was able to rest yesterday too.

Amrita, wow, what a beautiful garden you have designed here! I look forward to visiting and walking in your garden a while.

Yes, indeed, I have many 'India' connections. I am Indo-Trinidadian, which means my ancestors are from north India. My husband is Anglo-Indian born in Bombay, but grew up in Ottawa, Canada. I also have friends in Mussoorie. The area in which I live also has a large Indian population. My pastor, Sunder Krishnan, is from India and his wife , Shyamala, is Ravi Zacharias' sister. So, there you go--lots of India connections!

I have to ask, did you design this site? It is simply put, gorgeous! A different flavour, a different culture, I just love that God created us with differences! I would love to learn more about blog design. I only just started and slowly picking up things--slowly being the operative word (-;

Anyway, blessings to you...
Your sister-in-Christ-in-Toronto

Thank you all my dear friends for your greetings. And thank you for praying for Orissa. We did not hear of any violence taking place.

Hi Sita, its great to know about your Indian connections.I know a wonderful preacher from Trinidad...Jonathan Maraj. He is a converted Brahmin...lives in Darjeeling but travels to the US often.

I know both Ravi Zacharias and Sundar Krishnan.
Not personally though.
When i was in Grade 8 I went to an All India Youth Convention in Calcutta where they were the speakers together with Jay Kesler. It was a YFC thing.
We 've RZIM conferences in our church.I have many of RZ 's tapes.

My elder BIL who lives in New Brunswick is also from Bombay. So we lots of common ground.WoW!

I am not at all computer savvy. I have leart with help from friends. One blog frind lives in Toronto.
This template I got from Pyzam.com.
It took me about a year to learn how to enhance my blog. And I still have to learn so much more.

God bless.

Dear Amrita,
what a comforting message from Job's book and Handel's Messiah :"I know my Redeemer liveth!"
It ahs been a source of joy and hope many a time.
Today my girl has gone for school, and tomorrow 20 from her class are traveling to Azerbaijan to an orphanage which her mission support.
I am proud on her behalf, but also a trifle worried.
Azerbaijan is at war with a neighbor county, Armenia, so she is actually entering a war zone with only God and his angles as guardsman. Well that should certainly be enough, but she needs a lot of prayers, that's for sure. It does not make it easier that the inhabitants of Azerbaijan consists of 93% Muslims.
They are not always to happy about Christians trying to help. The need is vast among them, a family has to survive for a dollar a day.
Well any prayer for Serina and the children at the orphanage is welcomed.
I have not forgotten the little girl who is a provider for her whole family in India.
Oh, Amrita when we take a look around the need is endless.
Good then we have a living redeemer.
From Felisol

Amrita,
Just started going through your posts from the beginning and feel I have been transported to India, the sights, smells, sounds. This is truly a blessing for me. Thank you. I hope you don't mind, but I am adding you to my favorites! Touch base later. Blessings.

Yes, I love that song. I really enjoyed the video. That's a beautiful looking flower and a nice tree too. Thanks for the post. God bless.

Felisol, I will pray for Serina. She is a brave girl. All these experiences put metal in our kids blood.I am sure the lord will protect her and the whole group. Living in a poor country i really appreciate the help people give for the suffering and underprivelleged of the world.Even little become much when God is in it.That is the title of a song I know.

Sita, I have got Death of a Guru by Rabi Maraj. When he came to our city many years ago I attended his meetings.Do you knoww Vishal Mangalwadi (friend of RZ) he is a close friend , his wife Ruth is just my my elder sister.
