Sunday Blessings

The bottle gourd, tomatoes and beans are from our garden.
They were divided among 3 widows. They have large families
to feed. I like the lauki or bottle gourd. It has almost zero calories and is quite filling. I cook it with aniseed, chopped up garlic, tomatoes, turmeric powder and salt. It goes well with with lentils or meat.
Makes a nice dessert too.Grate and boil it and mix it with plain yogurt add some mild spices and you get raita or yogurt salad which I love.
We gotta be careful with our tomatoes. Some intruders are pinching them.
Now tofu is available in our city.
I bought 1/2 a pound for the very first time.
Its quite expensive.
This much was about $1
Here is a song by Hillsong.

Dear Amrita,
Aren't you great! Helping out of less fortunate, even sharing new recipes and music with your friends overseas.
Now I am happy that we are all walking one this One Way.

Amrita, this makes me think about a verse in Deuteronomy: "There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore, I command you to be openhanded toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land" (15:11). I know these women were blessed beyond simply food. God bless you!

Hi Amrita, Hope your garden will keep producing more than enough for the widows and others to share. Fresh vegies from one's garden are always a delight to the heart. Tofu is easily available in our markets, and they are not expensive here at all. WIsh you were just near, so I could give you some. Tofu is made from soybean, and is very healthy. I put it in japanese soup or chinese spring roll, or a noodle dish. It's very yummy. Enjoy the rest of your day...

My husband and I have been trying to develop new talents and hobbies that would help us in our ministry. I believe that a vegetable garden is just what we need! Thank you for inspiring me to at least TRY to make something grow in this desert! Rose bushes do great here, but we can't eat them! :)

Hi Amrita,
You are tagged at my K.I.S.S. blog. I don't normally do tags especially if it's about me personally but this one is different and I can't resist doing it since it's a Christian tag. I always want to spread God's message of love around the world. Please do the tag not for me but for Christ. Thank you very much and God bless you always.

Mel I put the tag up but it did not show up the way it is on your blog???

I love reading about your food---you should give us a few simple recipes every so often.
