Red Tuesday - Mother...Nature

Splashes of red in home and garden
This sleeveless waistcoat was made by my
Mother. She wove the individual squares on a small
wooden frame and stitched them together,
She has a larger frame also.
Presbyterian missionary friends
brought these weaving gadgets from 'home '
and shared these crafts with girls here.

Dear Amrita,
I had to search hard to find the letters of your comment box. They have gone white.
Your winter roses are amazing.
I can hardly believe my eyes.
India has got so many resources.
Good for you.

Your mother is a clever woman, familiar with many crafts. I had to double click to admire her square weaving.
I think my mother made some similar in pink cotton/silk for her nightstand table before I was born.
I'll have to take a closer look next time I go home.
Thanks for opening my eyes to the rich details of life.
From Felisol

Thank you for speaking so kindly for my mom. I will read this to her. Her spirits are uplifted whenshe hearshow poeple appreciate the work of her younger days. She never had idle hands, always busy with some hand work.

Now that she has aged and my Dad has gone she feels discouraged at times. Words of appreciation really make her happy. Please pray for her - sometimes she feels very insecure and doesn 't want to left alone even for a short time.

I think I corrected the color problem

That is a pretty waistcoat. I don't understand how she weaved it. Do you have a picture of the tools? I like your idea of Red Tuesdays, where did you get that idea?

Hi Amrita,
You have such a beautiful garden with flowers, vegetables and fruits. Truly your garden is also an oasis of love and joy for the weary of souls. God bless you my friend for your untiring efforts to elevate God's kingdom on earth.

Amrita, your Valentines Day look is too much fun!!! I think about your mother a lot - I know how difficult it can be for elders who defined their worth but what they could DO when they were younger. But her greatest treasure is her experience, the events she has lived through, the truths she has learned about life. Those gifts can never be taken from her. You are such a wonderful daughter to care for her so lovingly. Your heart shows in your posts, and I am always blessed when I come here.
