Wednesday 's Whims

Really funny aren 't they?

Observations of a blogger with a slow Internet Connection

As a blogger with a slow Internet connection I have
noticed that blogs which have a lot of photos, videos widgets ,
blinkies and playlists take a very long time to open if there are
more than 5 posts on the main page.
Sometimes it takes more than 5 minutes for the page to download.
And at times the page gets stuck and I have to re-boot.
It helps us slow-coaches if there are fewer posts
on the main page and the comment box opens
in the small window.

Amrita, I got such a great belly laugh from these! "Push button to open automatic door" was my favorite. Thank you so much for a welcome dose of a merry heart!

Thanks for the reminder about slow internet connections. I used to be in the same boat. How quickly one can forget! I have now changed my blog to 5 posts per page as a courtesy.
I'm still visiting and reading your blog each time you post. And I think of you every time I see a show about India. Wishing you pleasant days of peace and blessings. teresa

Dear Amrita,
Both Gunnar and I laughed best at the label "everybody is entitled to my opinion."
Wonderful.
I might copy that in another context.
I long ago took away my music program to make my blog easier accessible.
Today I have removed a load ful of cookies to make things go faster.
I was amazed by all the cookies. I thought I had a spar against them at Norton.
Live and learn.

I wanted to thank you for visiting both of my blogs & to have a look around yours. I am not a frilly blogger, so I know mine does not take long to load, but I have waited 5 minutes for some artsy blogs to load myself. Sometimes it is worth it, but I will admit, if it is new, I may just pass it by when that happens.
I know a great many people who feel: Everybody is entitled to my opinion; I have worked for a few as well. ~MaRY

Oh yes!
I came here to comment on the popular label of the year! Great one, Amrita!

I shall remember you observations about # of posts on the front page after I have finished my current love story series....some of my not so computer savvy readers may be confused in trying to find the first episodes! :)

Out of curiosity, Amrita, do you experience slowness of the pages loading in Bloglines when there are lots of pictures?

Oh sweetie I'll see what I can do.

My blog is a big issue I'm sure

Hi friends, That label is a joke from a 'humble blogger ' LOL( loudly)
A way to keep low self-esteem at bay.More LOL!!!

I just wanted to get on to the soap-box because come summer our slow connections in India ( may be other developing countries) will slow down further due to electricity problems.Having few posts on the main page really helps.

Hi Carol-Ann your romance story would make a nice Christian serial.

No its the same with bloglines or straight from my page Carol-Ann.

Hello Mary, your blog is a boon for caregivers.Thank you for sharing so openly and frankly. I wish I could express myself as well as you do.

And don 't worry buddies. i 'll get to your page with whatever transport is available - super sonic jet or bullock cart.

this was really funny... push button to open automatic doors, and writing tomorrow's post today. You have a good sense of humor Amrita, including the label Everybody Has The Right TO My Opinion! Loved all the family photos you posted, including the Ruby Tuesday shots. Your sister's shawl with tiny mirrors in them is lovely! Have a happy Valentine's Day.
