Sunday Blessings- Why Christians Are Considered Crazy

I will answer that question as after I show you these
old black and whites from the crazy old school days. We were at a Christian Youth Camp in
Mussoorie (Himalayas).
During a visit to the well kept Municipal Gardens
Curtis picked up a monkey tied to a post.
The simian rewarded him by pissing on him.
(L-R) Curtis, my sister Anju, Namrita , myself and Curtis 's sister Shobha . We are all having a good laugh at his misadventure.
Pied Pipers at a fair.
(L-R) Anju, myself, Mama and the flute seller

Trying the horse buggy called ikka (one horse)
(L-R) Aunts Sybil and Marjorie, Mama,Anju, Namrita
and myself.

WHY CHRISTIANS ARE CONSIDERED CRAZY
Christians are considered by many to be crazy, and with
good reason as A.W. Tozer notes:
"A real Christian is an odd number anyway.
He feels supreme love for the One he has never seen,
talks familiarly every day to Someone he cannot see,
expects to go to heaven on the virtue of Another,
empties himself in order to be full,
admits he is wrong so that he can be declared right,
goes down in order to get up,
is strongest when he is weakest,
richest when he is poorest,
and happiest when he feels worst.
He dies so he can live,
forsakes in order to have,
gives away so he can keep,
sees the invisible,
hears the inaudible,
and knows that which passeth knowledge."
Yes,Christians are different, but its encouraging to know that we are in
good company.

Amrita...this is the first time I've seen a pic of you with a wider smile! Poor Curtis!...nice to go down memory lane and see what fun you did have, isn't it?

And I do love that quote from Tozer...will copy that...
Hey, have you read The Shack yet?..anyway..later, off to church...last night was the Youth concert...I go just to feel and act young (in the back where I won't embarass my embarrassable sons!)..so we were back late...
have a wonderful week..

Beautiful pictures & beautiful writing. Have read somewhere that people who can hold contradictions together are the most evolved & are closest to God.

I love the pictures of you and yer family!!! What fun you guys were having!

Thankyou Sita, Dame Penni, David and Paresh.

Dear Paresh, in this passage the author is just highlighting the faith and trust Christians have in God and how they should empty themselves in order for God to fill them.I am glad you liked that passage.

We used to have such fun at the youth camps. Sometimes in one year we went to 3 camps or more. My parents always found extra money to send us, cutting back on other expenses.

Oh Amrita, THIS IS SO GOOD! Good spiritual food to feast on. I love the old pictures, I'm glad someone took a camera to that camp! I didn't realize that you had been raised as Christian. I thought you were a recent convert. I guess I didn't know your parents are also Christian.
Bless you!

Dear Amrita,
Lovely pictures from your youth.
To be a Christian sure is a contradiction to the successful selfmade men.
The word of the cross is a folly to those who perish.

They also called Jesus with so many insulting names but that did not stopped Him from accomplishing the mission for which He was sent to earth. Now if Christians are crazy I want to be crazy forever and be with my God. Then all crazy people will converge in heaven and have an eternal life, things which the "sane" people on earth will never experience. Thanks for the inspired post. God bless you always.

Thank you for a great passage to read, I enjoyed it thoroughly and I too, like a previous commentator, copied it to read again when I feel a little low.

Thank you!!!

Loved those photos- and enjoyed the thoughts on why Christians are
Crazy! I guess we are!

it doesn't really matter being called crazy as long as we know the true path. in the end, these "crazy" people will have the victory.

You are not kidding that some find Christians too fanatic. One of my best friends moved from here who was a devout Christian, but this place of heathens got too much for her as she was not well. I think she is very happy where she went t live, but growing up, people thought Mormons had horns and all the men had 3 or 5 wives, and it was hard to explain why most no longer did when the ones with all the wives seemed to interest people more! I could always tell my grandmother's polygamy stories.

Thank you friends for your comments.

Dear Rosemary welcome to my blog. You are a very talented lady. I found your blog very creative.

Gerry I know Christians are quite misunderstood and I can say that for anyone who is "different " from us.I live in a country full of diversity, I have experienced that.
