First Shower

Mid morning the sky draped itself with dark clouds
The heavens opened their casements
and the dam burst.

Thisty nature eagerly drank
from the abundance
Washing itself free from dust, dryness and drab.
This is the song of the rain

It was a thirst quenching day.
The first real shower of the monsoon

I am sure there is nothing more welcome than the sound of rain when a bad drought has been threatening. I am happy for you. Gerry

when we get rain here like that amrita, all we hear is complaints and here you are making a song out of it....but that's you.
bernie has been glad of the rain the last two or three days because he has rain barrels about four of them and he uses the rain water to water his flowers and wash the little red car!
amrita, i love the picture you have today of this dear elderly man.
it is so rare that the elderly are saved compared to the young people but the lord is ever faithful of giving them the chance to take him..
i hope everything is going well with you...i emailed you yesterday and hope you got the letter of my thanks to you for all the help you gave to me....love terry

FINALLY! Hooray!

Now the poor plants and animals have a chance to catch their breath and grow and just enjoy! The farmers must be so happy -- and the home gardeners, too!

Oh Joy! How good it is to have those summer rains. I do hope that the flooding is not to harmful.
Your garden must be so happy!
Try to hold on to some of the rain in barrels or a tub for later use.

Dear Amrita,
God is good.
He knows what we need and gives it just in time.
Oh, if we all could learn to show our gratefulness over his rich gifts.

Our continents must be in sync..the rains are pouring here too... and will be for the next couple of days...too bad I don't have a camera to record like you do...but your rain is so much more exotic for your American visitors (-;..

Actually I know that the rain brings life-giving water to many there and thank God that people are experiencing relief now...
Take care,
Love, Sita

Nothing like the sound of rain on the roof while trying to sleep.
The rain was needed for your lovely lush garden.

Wow, you can wax poetic with your poetic captions. Yes, the rains bring refreshment to the dry earth. They replenish tired souls too. They stimulate the growth of all living things. Thanks for the poetic post and the wonderful photos. God bless you always.
