Good Friday

Sonia, hubby Avinash and son Abner arrived on Thursday afternoon.
We had a great time together relaxing, chatting and of course the
big fat Indian wedding thrown in.
They left yesterday and the house feels so empty. On Friday morning Ben visited us.
He is a field worker (coordinator) for student ministries , very similar to Inter Varsity Fellowship.Ben is from South India.
He did his Masters from BHU
(Benares Hindu University) famous all over the world.
After that he dedicated himself to serve the Lord as a
missionary. His dad died when he was in Grade 2.
His mother is a woman of prayer he told us.
My Mom is showing him photos
of our student outreach.
We talked of the days gone by,
and outreach strategies
Ben is new in the field and needs prayers and encouragement.
Please pray for him.
He asked us if we could open our house for a
Bible study, we are glad to do that.
We gave him a packed lunch,
to substitute for his bachelor cooking.
Here are Sonia, Avinash and Abner relaxing under
the grapefruit tree.
They had grapefruit juice too.
And Abner perched himself on the tree and
sang Sunday School choruses all afternoon.

Hi Amrita, glad you have family visiting and I can't imagine sitting under a grapefruit tree...what a blessing that would be! Blessings to you & yours.

Dear Amrita,
I too am familiar with the empty feeling after visits from loved ones.
So good that Ben came to visit just today. I hope things go well for him, and how wonderful that you will host his Bible class. Your mother is looking just fine at the picture.

Ben must be a determined young man! I am glad you are helping him get comfortable in his role. I bet he is relieved to have a place to hold a Bible study.

Where I grew up, we had many citrus trees. I loved the kumquats and the satsumas best. We did not have a grapefruit, but I spent a lot of time in the fig trees.

It sounds like you had a nice, if brief, visit.

Is your weather cooler there? How cold does it get, winter-time?

Hope you have a lovely week. :)

Hello friends,
Gid bless you all for your kind comments, I feel so much humbled.

Dear Kathryn, our temp is in the 20s and at night time it drops further. In Jan it can be very cold and foggy with icy winds chilling the bone.

Yes Felisol, mother looks much better now, she was pretty ill all summer , I am giving her the best nutrition she can possibly have.

Holly, the trees you have mentioned I have not heard of. We had a fig tree behind my bedroom window, but my parents had it cut off, I don 't know why.

dear amrita..i can feel how your house must feel so empty!
family is so important and although we treasure the times that we can all be together and enjoy them so much, there is always left, a big space when they leave.
we must really thank the lord for the Internet and skype.
because of you amrita, telling me about skype and because the only reason that i downloaded it was to talk to you, well now it is the meeting place of my sister, sandra who lives in toronto and my sister, gail who lives in new market and betty and i .
we can talk to each other face to face, they all have web cameras and bernie and i don't but i can see them!
god bless you amrita for all you have done for us..
i just love your new look on the top of your blog...love terry
