The Blooming of Roses

Last night we got a delivery of 30 bags of cement and this morning the last load of bricks. Hopefully work on the wall will begin by next week.

Its getting cooler. Temperature is in the 60s and 70s. That 's pretty cold for us. Got my light sweaters out and warm quilts too. Temperature will drop further in the coming days. We experience extreme climatic conditions here.

I got a call from my adopted sister Sonia that they are coming on Thursday 26th for a friend 's wedding (27th) We are very happy for this pleasant surprise. Sonia, her husband and son Abner will be here till Sunday afternoon. And I will tag along with them to the wedding,
hoping to take pictures and videos.

I have to get the house ready by Thursday. Was busy doing that all day and in the evening talked with my elder sister and family for over an hour on Skype.
Later on I watched some TV coverage on last year 's Mumbai terror attacks on 26/11. It was very disturbing and emotionally moving to watch the stories of the victims, survivors and martyrs. Mama could not endure it, she had to leave, she was crying. and I was too.About 180 people lost their lives in that reign of barbarism. People with gaping holes in their hearts will never get their loved ones back. Parents will not know how their children would grow up. Children robbed of their parents love and protection. Husbands, wives , grandparents , brothers, sisters all under a veil of tears. How inconsolable I would be if it had happened to me.
I found this amazing video and take comfort in the miracle of nature.
I think they used a time lapse camera.

The handiwork of God, who gives beauty in the place of ashes,as the Bible says. He is the God of all comfort.Just as the buds unfold imperceptibly in the stillness of time, here captured by an electronic eye, God 's love and comfort can unfold in our hearts if we let it.

Here are roses from our garden taken last year.Right now our bushes have been pruned, they will bloom after a few days.

When the Rose is Faded by Walter de la Mare
When the rose is faded, Memory may still dwell on Her beauty shadowed, And the sweet smell gone. That vanishing loveliness, That burdening breath, No bond of life hath then, Nor grief of death. 'Tis the immortal thought Whose passion still Makes the changing The unchangeable. Oh, thus thy beauty, Loveliest on earth to me, Dark with no sorrow, shines And burns, with thee.

Beautiful entry. I liked watching the roses bloom! Nice roses in your yard last year, too. Our bougainvillea is blooming here. Very beautiful flower. Some have gorgeous rose gardens but they are a little harder to grow than bougainvillea. Gerry

maybe if you only posted this blooming of the roses video without even many words it would be nice!
amrita, do you remember when we first met that you sent dad golden over that big bouquet of roses, a picture that you had taken of your own roses and i printed it out for him...that was so nice!

oh the roses are absolutely LOVELY! thank you for sharing!!
oh Amrita, my husband and i just recently saw a documentary of the horror that occurred in Mumbai, a year ago, it was truly disturbing and emotionally moving. i cried too. i feel that it is as disgusting as the 9/11 attacks that took place in 2001 on United States soil. we must never forget. Hugs, to you, my friend.

I remember those terrible attacks in Mumbai, too...it was so shocking and the terrorists were so vicious...

That poem is so deep that it will take me many days to better understand it. But I think it will be a worthwhile endeavor!

So glad some of your family is coming both this month and next! I hope a little envelope will get to you in time for the Xmas visit of your sister...

Thank you dear friends.

Roses are the pride and joy of my family. We 've been growing them for the past 25 years.

Dear Holly , you are so sweet. Hugs to you.

Recently the FBI arrested 2 men in the US , who were involved in the Mumbai attacks - both of Pakistani origin. A lot of links are being uncovered.

Lovely roses. The desert shall blossom as a rose.

God's beautiful things remain despite man's sinfulness. (I was in my bath on the day before I was booked to fly to Mumbai when I was told about the attack; we went straight to Chennai, though I had to sit at Mumbai airport with the screens covered in the event in the city centre to keep me company for a few hours!)

You always have the most beautiful and colorful roses in your garden . God shows His appreciation for what you are doing by making your flowers bloom with such beauty and colors. In spite of what is happening all around us, God is still in control and will make things wonderful for those who trust in Him. Thanks for the post. God bless you always.
