O Come All Ye Faithful

I have some photos taken on Christmas Day Our guest speaker was a lady from
the NE state of Manipur

Listening to the Word of God

Greetings from India

I want to be photographed too

After church a few of us hosted a lunch
for all church people and our helpers
and men working on the wall.
We also invited some folk
who were away from home.
(Above)
Rajendra, Sunila (Pastor 's wife)
and Pastor Shay cooking chicken curry.
These young men preparing the salad

Now is the time to eat.
Chicken curry, pea pilaf, nan bread
and salad.
Senior ladies
Children

Afterwards the kids played badminton & basketball.
Across our street a shop selling Christmas decorations.

A camel man giving rides to
the kids from the Methodist church

I offered to pay for rides for our kids,
but they did feel very confident,
so we let it pass.
In the evening we took a walk in the shopping area.

The shops and hotels were all lighted up

Crowds of people were milling around
everyone was enjoying the festive atmosphere..
We had a good day and were tired at
the end of it.

I can never get enough of looking at the photos of your city. I love those lights, incredibly festive!!!

I don't blame the children for their reticence about the camel ride...quite scary...I would flatten the poor creature...

How nice to include the wall workers in the dinner!!!

Your church looks very nice inside. Our congregation is probably about the same size as yours, maybe smaller.
I really enjoy having a luncheon after the service.

Dear Amrita,
I'm finally back from Christmas celebration in Sauda.
I think the way you celebrate Christmas in church, having all generations gathered and also inviting strangers, is a perfect way of celebrating in the spirit of our Lord.
You also looked very pretty sitting on the stairs, pretty and happy.
May you still have some wonderful days into the new year.

Thank you for visiting and leaving comments my dear friends.
I am so slow in my visits because of guests and visitors. I wish there were 48 hours in a day.

Blogging is timeless someone has said.

I created a blog about my temple visit and found it was on another bklog, to which I contribute...so I am re-doing it.

Your photos are so colorful and festive, yet beneath the glitter, I detect a deep spirit of reverence.
Good for you.

oh amrita!..such a plain and simple church building...just like the gospel hall where we attend.
scripture plaques on the wall...silent messengers... even if the unsaved have closed their ears to the gospel..they can read these and believe and be gloriously saved!
the open door and windows where the light is streaming in and the Light Himself inside the christians sitting there...that Light shining out of each redeemed heart and filling the place with heavenly joy!
this is such a beautiful post...elderly people, middle aged people, teenagers and little children!!
a flock of god's own making!
god bless you amrita and please give mama a hug and sheeba a pat on the head AND a hug from me...love terry

Hi Amrita:)

Greetings:)

I am glad to see lovely views of your wonderful Christmas celebrations. The best part I thought was cooking food yourselves and sharing it with others. Normaly these days people take short cuts and buy things from the hotel or bakery and distribute.

The colorful lighting and camel rided caught my fnacy. I can see you had a wonder Christmas celebration.

SEASONS GREETINGS TO YOU AND YOUR WONDERFUL FAMILY. HAPPY NEW YEAR TOO.
JOSEPH:)
