Hi Amrita:)

Reading your post and watching the interesting videos made me understand how much we have developed over the last 60 years. We have made rapid advances in science and technology, agriculture, education,
sports, medicine, beauty contests etc. that we have become one of the best countires in the world. I agree we have to do a lot in housing, hunger, poverty, population control, drinking water, sanitation etc.Hopefully we will improve as much as possible quickly,

You know I took part in the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi in 1968 and marched from Raj Bhavan to Red Fort through India Gate with a rifle on my shoulders. It was a long, long tedious march but thoughly enjoyable. It is one thing to watch from the sides with the crowd and another thing to participate.

Have a nice day Amrita:)

Happy 60th Republic Day for India. India is now at the threshold of being a great and powerful nation not only in Asia but all over the world. May peace and prosperity reign in India for the benefit all people in India. Thanks for the post. God bless you always.

Dear Amrita,
Happy 60 years anniversary for the republic of India.
Imagine, I am 7 weeks older than the Free India.
So many great changes have taken place in my time. I'm graceful for the fact that India won her freedom peacefully, like Norway did in 1905.
Though negotiations, but what an example and what great dignity.

Dear Amrita,
I am really happy to come here to your post today - you are outstanding really! I read about this Phir Mile Sur, only yesterday I read reports about it, but there is an overdose of filmi people I was told. I too think so. And really the nostalgia of the 1988 one is still in my heart :))
It is a beautiful post however!

Thank you for your greetings my dear friends.

Julia you are right too much Bollywood in there, but that 's what the younger generation wants to see.I love Lata singing in the older version and AR Rahman.

Dear Felisol, now it will be easy for me to remember your birthday.LOL

Hello Josephji, it must have been so exciting to actually participate in the Republic Day Parade in the nation 's capital. What a thrill. Have you got a photo with the rifle?
