Sunday Blessings - Asking the right questions

People think about their beliefs , express their doubts and questions about various ideas presented to them. I like to ask a lot of questions too and while responding to a blogger' s post last week I wrote this.
(It is based on Colin Chapman 's book ' Christianity on Trial ')

The question is not simply ;Does Christianity contain truths? Or does it contain individual truths that can be combined with truths from other religions and philosophies?

The question is :Is Christianity itself the truth? Is the whole system of Christian belief consistent within itself and consistent with everything else we know? Do Christian beliefs when taken together as a whole teach "the truth" about man, the universe and God?

The question is not simply; How can I know if Christianity is true for me? Is it true to my experience, true to my understanding of myself regardless of whether or not it expresses the truth about all men? Is it true existentially? Does it express the existential truth of my own experience (whether or not it is true objectively?

The question rather is :Is Christianity objectively true? Does it give a true account of what is there? Is it true objectively and true existentially at the same time. Can it be true in my own experience simply because it is the truth about the way things are?

Asking the right questions will help us arrive at the truth. God' s truth is open to verification.

This is another good video to watch.

I have done 2 posts today. The other one is below this one.

In my opinion the best evidence the Christianity is true, is the fact of Jesus Resurection. Budda, Mohammad or Lao-tse aren't live. For example Quran (I don't know if is it good written) isn't so historical tested, like Bible. I read in my life fragments of Quran, some articles of Jehova's Witnesses and books of New Age gurus. Non of them isn't so clear, so stacked and so powerful like the Bible.
The Bible says the true also in the scientific sense. It is written, that people should wash their hands for example - the world of science needed 2500 years to discover, why.

Christianity is about the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. If the whole world rejects Him, He is still God's truth to mankind.

John 14:6 (New King James Version)

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Dear Amrita,
According to me religious matters is not a logical matter that can be questioned and answered logically by brain. It's about sense and love which it will come suddenly from each person experiencing their struggle of life.

A good post and also thought provoking!

Dear Amrita,
I was going to write the same as Old Geezer: " I am the way, the truth and the life."
That is whatI have built my life upon.

Hi Amrita:

This is a very relevant post for the modern times.

Last Sunday in the church the priest spoke of this very subject. He said that in the in the modern times the number of atheists are growing in the world and scientific discoveries are questioning the very foundation of Christianity. Is there a life after death?

Many educated youngsters of today question everything on Christianity.

He explained saying that Christianity is based on belief and faith in Jesus Christ. We have to believe HIS words are true. The more we start questioning the basics of Christianity and the more we try to seek proof and answers we are going to be disappointed. He gave the parable of Lazarus and the rich man told by Jesus. Believe in the words of Jesus, trust in HIM and have implicit faith in HIM.It is as simple as all that. Live your life to the best of your ability in the ways shown by the BIBLE. Leave the rest to God.Don't look for too much scientific proof.

Christianity is based on sacrifice and people laying down their lives for the belief in Christ and what He has promised.

Temptations are from the devil and don't try to dwell too much on it. Otherwise you will be like Dr.Faustus mentioned in my previous post.

Best wishes:)
Joseph

Dear friends thank you for you r valuable reflections.

Ye s Christ is the fulcrum of our faith. And Christianity is not church, rules or dogmas , it is a relationship with Christ. It is being a part of God 's family.

My belief is not simply blind faith, it rests on the foundation of faith and reason or logic.

Josephji, thank you for your enlightening comment. More an d more young people are truning away from God as they are losing themselves to materialism and worldliness. They are rebelling against the establishment too. The devil, enenmy of our souls is not sitting idle. It is necessary for believers to display our faith and live in such a way that people are attracted towards THE TRUTH.
