Day 19- Foot Washing

The  first thing  I  do   upon  returning home  from  a  trip  outside is  to wash my  feet  and  sandals. Get  rid  of   the  dust.  Wet feet  also  cools  you  down.

People also  take  off  their  shoes  or  sandals  before  they  enter  a home  they  are  visiting. I  was  told  they  do  that  in  Canada  too.  Good  way  to  keep  your  floor   and carpet  clean. In  India  footwear  is  shed  before  entering a  religious  building as  a  mark  of  reverence. In my  church  they  do  that.

Come  into  the  presence of  God  barefoot - leave  the  grime  of  the  world  outside.
Jesus  the   Servant King  and my  Elder  Brother  is  ready  to wash  my  feet.
I  need to have  my feet  washed  everyday.

22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.
Hebrews  10;22  (BIBLE)

"Look at your feet. They’re wet, grace soaked. Jesus has washed the grimiest parts of your life."- Max  Lucado

Respect to other people is essential. When I was in Bosnia, they told me, that in Orthodox Church women and men are in different parts of church - men on the right site, women on the left. I was staying on the left site, as they asked me.

I think the church here in the states should have more feet washing services as it was in the old days...so much of the old has been done away with here, and replaced by more modern practices. I have participated in foot washing services in the past,it was a very humbling experience, and very evident the Holy Spirit was present....it is a command of our Lord..you should do unto one another as I have done unto you. Quite a few years ago. When I was maybe 16 or so. My Dad did this with the family at dinner one night. I frankly at the time Did Not Like it! For my Dad to abase himself in such a way before Me? Some unwashed child? No! But he did it and after a bit I let him as he is my Dad.

Now, I guess I understand it better. In some ways it is the sign of a master serving his servants. Just like Christ served and does serve us although we are totally undeserving of it! Yet that is what our God does to teach us about the whole master/servant relationship.

We the undeserving are reminded of who we are by such an action.

In humbling himself, Christ humbles us.

You know, Totally aside from all God does and has done and will do for me. I just LOVE the way his mind works! He has also been called The Great Architect.

Personally I think we should add The Great Physiologist! To the list.

NO one knows us better, understands our fears or wants or desires more than he does.

Thank you my Father for walking with me this day.
