I Need Christmas

My  church lit  up  with Christmas  lights

I NEED  CHRISTMAS

While listening to Christmas music, I heard the lyrics of “We Need a Little Christmas.” My thoughts echoed the sentiment of the song, especially if it means that we need the meaning of Christmas. I immediately began to enumerate the reasons why.
I need Christmas because:
  1. It reminds me that God keeps His promises.
  2. It speaks of the Heavenly Father’s unconditional love.
  3. It helps me to marvel at how God’s thoughts and ways are not even close to ours. There is no way that we would have planned for Jesus to be born in the place and manner that He was.
  4. It helps me to understand the Savior came for all of God’s people.
  5. It makes me rejoice to know that He came to meet our greatest needs - a victory over sin and death.
This list is certainly not exhaustive. In what ways do you need Christmas?

Here there are people, who tell that real Christian shouldn't celebrate Christmas, because it is "pagan celebration". Yes, there were in ancient Rome some celebration, but Christmas were celebrated as opposition to them. I don't like when people judge others only because of one day. They don't think about one fact - in Europe there is more and more people, who don't understand the sense of Christmas. For our unbelieving families it is sometimes the only occasion to tell them about God's grace and love.
