Right- Sania Mirza, reached the world top 50 and won an Olympic medal
Below- Pratibha Patil the first woman President of India

Below- Arundhati Roy won the Booker Prize for her book"The God of Small Things". I love that book. Made me cry and laugh in a single sentence.

Left- Ashwaria Rai won the title of Miss World. She is an accomplished actress now.
Below is a picture of girls in a rural school taken by my niece Mahima.
A 13 year old girl like this can 't go to school any more as she has to take care of her blind parents. She drives a cycle rickshaw to sustain her family. These are also the daughters of India.
Amazing - everyone of them.
ReplyDeleteOne of the most amazing daughters of India is you my dear friend, your just not as famous as those you've named.
The last daughter you've featured....is the most beautiful of all!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Pat - India must be proud to have a daughter such as you Amrita!
ReplyDeleteOh what beautiful women indeed.
ReplyDeletemany are the unsung heroes, may God reward them.
ReplyDeleteThe last one is the diamond in the crown.
ReplyDeleteDear Amrita,
ReplyDeletethat was a remarkable bouquet.
I also like Arundhati Roy. Her novel has been translated into Norwegian several years ago.
To be a bit shallow I might add that Indian women are so beautiful looking, the big, brown eyes, rich hair and enviable complexion.
Bet the heroine of thirteen also is blessed with the same good look in addition to being a lifesaver for her family.
I'll have to add her on my list of prayers.
Yours Felisol
ooooow I was thinking of womans day (yesterday March 8) But I was too busy to post a mail on my blog, I'm glad you did!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Pat about you.
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you shared these wonderful women.
I'm always happy to hear of women who are doing us all proud. I get so tired and disheartened by the females I see around me everyday.
Excellent post once again, Amrita! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWhat amazing daughters... the last one touch my heart.
ReplyDeleteYeah, they are real daughters of India, who with their effortless service has really made our society proud and has become examples of sorts to the women of our society!
ReplyDeleteYes friends women are on the rise in India, but we have a long way to go.
ReplyDeleteThe last srory is really touching there are many like that.
