    Hi Ron, the Easter- Christmas connection is really powerful isn 't it. And as in the Old Testament times God appointed feasts and days of rememberances for the Jewish nation, its nice to remember the special times of the New Covenant.

    Isn 't it interesting to seehow the old Masters painted this event in their own setting - European background , nothing resembling the Holy Land.

    The world honors Mary as the mother of Jesus but it is still wrong to pray to her for that is idolatry. Prayer is only reserved to God. The second commandment of God expressly forbid the setting up of images of anything in heaven, on earth, under the earth and at sea and also expressly prohibited bowing down or praying to them. God is Spirit and His true worshipers worship Him in Spirit and in truth. Thanks for the post. God bless you always.

    Dear Mel, I agree with you 100%.
    Although Mary was an extraordinary woman she cannot take the place of our Triune God.
    and certainly not to be worshipped or prayed to with any of the saints. Jesus is our only advocate before the Father.
