Tho He slay me...

Winter  Flowers

My  dear  friends  thank  you  for  sending  us   good  wishes  and  assurances   of  prayer.
That  has  kept  our  spirits,  faith
and  physical  reserves  up in  these  past  few   days.

Apart  from  knee  exercises Mama  has  to  take  complete  bed  rest. Its  hard  to  just  lie  flat  on  your
back and  turn  a  few  times.
She  gets  irritated,  lonely  and  bored,
sometimes   angry  too.Sister  Namrita  is
nursing  her  day  and  night and  me
helping. My  elder  sister  and  BIL  are on  their way to  India.
That  is  a  great  comfort.
On  YouTube  I  show  mom  her
favourite  soaps - to  cheer  her  up.
We  have  family  prayers  and  I  read  scriptures  aloud  to  her and  play  Christian  music.
Our  lives  are  centred  around   our  mother.
Namrita's  11  year  old  Rayguel  plays ball,  or  with
Sheeba. He  watches  cartoons  and  plays  games  .
Hard  to   keep  him occupied,  but  he  doesn' t  complain.  He   is  a  good    boy.
Its  very  cold  here  that  is  making  life
difficult.  But  we thank  God  for
the  warm   clothes  we  have
and  a  little  space heater
for  Mom.
Besides  dealing  with  our  mother 's
illness we  have  facing  some  very
deep  troubles  and  trials.
I  cannot  share  anything  here.
The  devil  is  trying  to  crush  us  and   tear  us  apart.
Its  like   the  Anti Christ  of  the   book
of  Revelation.
I went  through  a  period  of  shock
and  emotional  upheaval.
But  prayer,  reading the  scriptures and  help  from  strong  believers has  kept us  strong
and  stable.
All  this  we  are  hiding  from  Mom,  as  it  will
be  detrimental to her recovery.
we  are  like  on  an  emotional roller
coaster -  up  and  down.
But  always  feeling  the  presence of  God.
We  remain  strong  in  this  evil day.
And  with  Job  I  will  say,
"Tho He  slay me
yet  will  I  trust  Him".
(Job 13;14)

We  need your  prayers
and  support.
Pray  for  our safety.
P.S.
I  am  slowly  visiting   blog  friends.
My  physical energy is low.

The Body Guard

Today was a day of high drama, and spiritual warfare, akin to an episode of a soap opera. I cannot give the details unfortunately.

This morning I went out on important business and could have been mugged and robbed on the way back. But my Shield and Defender God provided maximum security for me and I reached home safely. He is my Body Guard literally

I was taking a breather after this when an unexpected visitors showed up. Five huge men against two weak women ( mama and me). The meeting could have taken a very ugly and nasty turn had not the Holy Spirit given me the right words to say and wisdom to deal with them. I silently kept praying , at times I felt they were not going to leave. We kept talking for nearly 2 hours and they left.

One of them is going to come to see me tomorrow morning to talk about a certain matter.
I promised to help him as best I can.

Please pray for me. We need God' s protection and wisdom and the right words to say. Pray for these men too . That God may wash away the enmity which has taken root in their hearts for each other (they are cousins and brothers) and us too, even my Pastor.

As Goliath reared his monstrous head, I picked up God' s 5 stones to confront him.
For God not given has not us a spirit of fear , but of power , and love and self control. 2 Timothy 1:7 (New Testament)

PS The the evening we had a cool refreshing shower. Praise God!

Prayers Needed

Please pray for my younger sister Namrita, who lives with her husband and 2 young sons in Meghalaya (North eastern state), thousands of miles from us.

She has been diagnosed as having chronic migraines. And the doctor treating her put her steroids without informing her. That really worsened her condition and she is practically bed ridden since Tuesday (Aug 18th). I got an email from her son telling me this as she was unable to talk to me. Then I called her up.
Her throat is swollen, gums hurt and she can barely swallow anything. Apart from weakness and the pain.
Another doctor has taken her off the steroids now. She needs to recover from that. Namrita has a thyroid issue too.
She will be travelling to Guwahati (Asam) to consult another doctor, in a few day 's time.
Please pray for her. My sister has had a lot of struggles in life.

Update on Namrita

I heard from Namrita in the afternoon. After the MRI and examination the neurologist diagnosed her as having hemicrania headaches. It is a rare but treatable disorder . Praise God it is not something worse than that.

I found some information about hemicrania on the web.

Hemicrania continua is considered a primary headache disorder, meaning that it's not caused by another condition. Fortunately, it is a rare but treatable disorder. According to the International Headache Society's (IHS) International Classification of Headache Disorders, 2nd Edition, hemicrania continua is a "persistent strictly unilateral headache responsive to indometh The IHS diagnostic criteria for hemicrania continua is: Headache for more than 3 months fulfilling criteria B–D All of the following characteristics: unilateral pain without side-shift daily and continuous, without pain-free periods moderate intensity, but with exacerbations of severe pain At least one of the following autonomic features occurs during exacerbations and ipsilateral to the side of pain: conjunctival injection and/or lacrimation nasal congestion and/or rhinorrhoea ptosis and/or miosis Complete response to therapeutic doses of indomethacin Not attributed to another disorder Hemicrania continua usually presents a mild to moderate daily headache. However, along with the daily, one-sided headache, it also causes exacerbations of more severe headache, which occurs on the same side as the daily headache and is characteristic of migraine pain. These more severe episodes can last from 45 minutes to days. During these exacerbations, symptoms of other disorders may be present: Migraine symptoms: throbbing pain nausea and/or vomiting phonophobia ( not able to stand noise) photophobia Cluster headache symptoms: conjunctival injection and/or lacrimation nasal congestion and/or rhinorrhoea ptosis and/or miosis The factor that allows hemicrania continua and its exacerbations to be differentiated from migraine attacks and cluster headaches is that hemicrania continua is completely responsive to indomethacin. Triptans and other abortive medications do not affect hemicrania continua. The cause of hemicrania continua is unknown. As with migraine disease and many other headache disorders, there is no definitive diagnostic test for hemicrania continua. Tests such as an MRI may be performed to rule out other causes for the headache. When a patient has the symptoms of hemicrania continua, it's considered "diagnostic" if they respond completely to indomethacin.

Please continue to pray for Namrita. In His sovereignty God can heal her completely. We all have our "thorn in the flesh" something which God uses to keep us close to Himself.
If anyone reading this has more information about this disorder and its pain management please pass on your valuable information to me.
