Glamour India

Let me show you the modern
contemporary, chic,
and flashy world of the Lakme Fashion Week
It is a lavish display of
exquisite fabrics,
glamorous globetrotting gowns
and eye catching ensembles.

Our designers and models rub shoulders with
the barons of the fashion world

Fashion designing is a popular career among

the younger generation these days.

But it is not for the masses.

Look to the Rose that blows about us
-" Lo
Laughing"she says,"into the World
I blow:
At once the silken Tassel of my Purse
Tear, and its Treasures on the Garden
throw."

This Worldly Hope men set their hearts
upon
Turns Ashes-or it prospers and
anon
Lighting a little Hour or two-is gone.
(The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam)

I reckon that the Indian ladies at any bus stop in Allahabad will be as glamorous as the supposed models!

I should be advocating "the incorruptible ornament of a meek and quiet spirit", of course.

Some of those are pretty cool. And then some not so much, like the guy with the needles in his copper helmet.
I think he's listening for aliens.

Amrita!
I love the pictures you shared! Not quite the fashion I am used to here in the southern part of the USA!!! But I love the colors and the interesting designs.

I was thinking of you just this morning while watching Joyce Meyer Ministries on TV. She had filmed some ministry that her team had been involved with there in India. I forget which part, but it just made me think of you. So...I prayed for you as I thought of you. May the blessings of our Lord be upon you today and always..

Love,
De Anna

Dear Amrita,
Thank you for the mode update, saving me this months issue of Vogue.
Nothing amazes me more than the intricate and artful sari fabrics.
Any woman wearing those looks lie a floating fairy princess.
Good the the fashion designers have taken care of your unique heritage.
I also appreciate the broad horizon of your blog.
