Vet Day

Sheeba had not been well the past few days.
Symptoms showed that she needed her 6 monthly
deworming pills , annual shots and vet check up.
I loaded her up in a rickshaw yesterday
and took her to the Dog Care Center.
She loves the rickshaw ride but turns green as soon as
she sees the Vet 's clinic.
Anyway she got her shots and nails clipped.
I asked the shop girl to pack me some eye and ear drops
and pills for deworming and a skin problem,
When she rang up my bill,
I turned green and nearly swooned.
It was 3 times the amount I paid last time.
I told her I could only pay for the shots,
that too was more than what I had in my wallet.
So she gave me a concession.
(Which triggered some uneasy questions in my mind.
Was I being fleeced???)
I wanted to buy nail clippers too but they were
very costly....Rs 300
Later on I went to a Vet closer to home and
bought the pills.
Their clipper cost only Rs 90
which are more affordable.
Although I did not buy them.
Bur Sheeba is fine now
and doing good.
A vet once told us that we can give dogs human medicines
for minor problems.
So I am using human eye and ear drops and skin cream.
Oh if dreams came true
I' d choose this one.

Darn it Amrita as soon as more earrings sell I'm sending you the nail clippers. I think the whole world is going crazy just GRUBBING for MONEY. I wish you had vets like ours, they are unlike any others I've ever had...as they say, they charge the poor only a little and make it up on the rich...they're just kidding...they are EXCELLENT vets with a long, long waiting list to be a client and they have such sweet hearts.

Dear Holly, Oh No please don' t spoil Sheeba and me too. I don 't want you to spend so much for a small thing like clippers. I will buy them when I am able to.
If Sheeba finds out that her clipper came from America she will put on fancy airs, I tell you.

This afternoon she ended her self imposed 36 hr. fast. She Was was gobbling up the tasty bits and leaving the bread. So I gave her dinner to stray dogs and cats.QWhen she found out I was not going to serve her caviar and champagne, she humble ate her food like a good girl.

Dear Amrita,
I'm glad you are a lady with brains and find ways to help poor Sheeba.
It's sad that that the vets are more expensive than human doctors.
At least they are here.
We found a stray cat outside our door when Serina was here at Christmas. Brought the cat to the vet. They kept him overnight and nursed him till he died 8 o'clock next morning. For that we were charged 200 us dollars.
Well, I'd do the same over again, but I really can't afford it.
We also spent hours trying to find the cat owners; no way someone claimed responsibility...
Life is tough for the helpless.
