Just finished reading this book. It is funny insightful and challenging. We who belong to the world wide community of believers rub shoulders with a variety of Christians. This book calls us to shun the extreme, the bizarre and the prejudice that are impediments to the church being an influential force.
In future blog posts I will present short sketches of the 'weird Christians" we all have met and most probably are one too. Or a mixture of one or two. Order your copy from Amazon.com. You will love it.
8 Fertilize my soul:
How funny! I'll bet i am on several of those pages! I do however find that there is room for most all of them in the body of Christ(look at some of the weirdness in the early churches..lol)...I find that even the extremes are useful...the status quo is so firmly entrenched that it takes an extreme viewpoint sometimes to move the pendulum at all....and somewhere in the midst of it all..there is the order of God....He is forever in control!
I think that we are all Weird in some way...really I do. But God takes all off our weirdnesses (made up word) and makes something beautiful, something that draws others to us. So, that they can see God in us! Not perfect people...just forgiven.
Big Hugs Amrita!
i love coming here, i never know what you will have for me. Blessings dear sister.
Haha. When I saw the subject in the newsfeed, I fully expected to be the main feature of your article(;..
But I know where Philip is coming from. Christians who get tunnel vision in one doctrine and try to fit God into their box usually leave you feeling a tad uncomfortable. Unfortunately, these are the ones Hollywood likes to feature in movies.
We all know there was only one 'normal' person Who ever lived. The rest of us are well...plain abnormal(;
I am glad our God created us as originals and not to become lousy copies.
When I was young I kind of put up a fight to be me, a Christian who was free and freed.
Back then people were inclined to think you had to dress, talk and look in a special way to be a Christian.
I'm glad both Christians and non believers ( I actually found them the worst to condemn)think different today.
Dear friends, Cheryl, Trish, David, Felisol and Sita thank you for your grea t comments.
I shall attempt to paint some sketche s of these characters in the following posts.
This sounds interesting! I love how you always bring the most timely subjects!
