Sunday Blessings : VBS

Sonia' s son, 8 year old Abner had
been going to Vacation Bible School
for the past one week.
Every morning they had activities
between 7 and 10.30 am.
On Friday evening a picnic was arranged for all
the participants on the Seminary lawns.
The kids took their own snacks and food.
Today in the Sunday service
there was a special VBS presentation.
Here is Abner displaying his workbook and
certificate.

I found these nice photos
of Indian Children
on the web

Here is a gem.
A missionary got this letter
from a kid in her church-
We are learning about who obeys God and who does not. Steven obeyed God and he got killed for it. I hope you obey God?
Happy Pentecost Sunday to everyone

Great!

It certainly would be a test to obey God like Stephen did!

There sure is no more important school than Sunday school. I say that and think that over and over again.
All those beautiful children on your pictures, I hope they all are safe and protected.
It's horrible to learn children are getting killed for their belief.
Oh, there's so much praying to be done.
May the Lord especially protect all the Christians of India this night.

We used to conduct our own vacation Bible school for kids during summer here in the Philippines. They are taught praise music, Bible studies, practical Gospel stories and the relevance of Jesus Christ in the lives of children. I also conducted Bible studies in cell groups at Christian homes. Oh how I miss those activities but the Lord put me in the internet ministry and I obey the Lord. Thanks for the post. God bless you all always.

Gracious, Amrita, who is Stephen? The poor thing!

A friend invited me to go to VBS when I was very young. The other kids got me in the corner and put glue in my poor hair. I am glad Abner fared better! The city where I grew up had some mean streets, let me tell you!

It is so importanty to lay a strong foundation of faith in children. Truths embedded in children last throughout life.

I also remember attending VBS and teaching in it too.

Dear Hooly, this is St. Stephen the firs t martyr. His story is found in the book of Acts in the New Testament.
He was stoned to death for proclaiming Christ and just before he died he saw a vision of Christ and prayed for his killers forgiveness.

I am so sorry to read about your VBS experience. What were the VBS teachers doing? They should have prevented kids being mean to each other.

Hello Amrita:)

It is wonderful to see little children being trained when they are very young.A strong foundation at a young age will stand them in good stead later in their life.

People who obey God will rarely walk on a bed of roses. They will have to trample on stones and thorns. But they are the ones who will get the benefit of eternal happiness.

Whatever we see on this earth or acquire on this earth are temporary and passing. Only God's word is permanent and everlasting. There are many people who gave up their lives believing in the promise of God. They had unshakable faith in God's Word.

Lovely post and excellent photos:)

Have a nice day Amrita:)

Stephan has always been one of my most inspiring biblical characters who I would think about when I was extremely tried, and how he saw God in the last moments of his life, but I can see how a child might look at it!

dear amrita..these children are so priceless.
we don't have vbs until the first week of august. the children go there at nine in the morning and are there until twelve.
they learn a different bible verse every day and they earn points for this and if they bring their parents, grandparents or friends, then they earn points for this too.
everybody is a winner because even though they don't learn the verse or bring any extra people, well they get a point for just coming!
it is so nice that even as christians, the lord will have a reward for EVERYBODY!!!
just priceless....i loved this post amrita and i am sure that you are so proud of abner!!..love terry
