Sunday 10/10/10 - Perfect 10

Since society is clearly fascinated with the numerical smoothness of the No. 10, some will get a little thrill on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010 -- or 10-10-10. The combination occurs once every 100 years.
To carry it a few digits further, twice on Sunday it will be 10-10-10-10-10, that's 10 minutes after 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. Some believe that because of the rarity of the numerical sequence, 10-10-10 is a lucky day. Others think the opposite.
Of course, Christopher Butler, a math instructor at Case Western Reserve University, just smiles when people ascribe significance to a particular date.
"It's all so arbitrary," he said.
The date is in its essence just a representation of time based on when someone began counting. And the way we count is subject to change.
"Don't get me started on leap years," he said.
If you follow the Hebrew calendar, Sunday is just another day: the 2nd of Cheshvan, 5771.
But most of the world, including the U.S. government, operates on the Gregorian calendar. So, this Sunday is a perfect 10.

People in India are also attaching astrological and memory significance to this date and creating a milestone by celebrating birthdays today. Many couples have booked operation theaters to have babies. Some are having fun parties to remember the day.

London Yet another amazing coincidence is about to happen and people are looking at it for deeper meanings.
If you want to confess love to someone or waiting for result of your dream job\'\'s interview, Sunday may be the day to test your good fortune.
As the tenth day, of the tenth month, of the tenth year, October 10, 2010, has been hailed as one of the luckiest of the century.
Numerologists have claimed that the row of \'\'perfect tens\'\' symbolises not just a once in a 100 years quirk of the calendar, but a \'\'powerful moment of rebirth\'\'.
However, the date has also sparked fears that a computer virus could be released causing technological havoc.
Register offices are opening specially to conduct Sunday weddings and according to some estimates 31, 050 couples will marry - 10 times as many as on an average Sunday.
Couples have also planned to have their babies delivered by Caesarean that day, in the hope that some of the day\'\'s luck rubs off on their newborn.
Many Las Vegas hotels are offering special 10.10.10 wedding packages and in China, the most popular ceremony slots, which fall between 10am and 10.10am, were snapped up months ago.
Others have the good fortune to celebrate their 10th birthday on the trinumeral-a date in which the day, month and year align.
Elsewhere in the world, mothers-to-be have scheduled their C-sections for tomorrow - a move that will make their child\'\'s birthday extra easy to remember.
In Dubai, one hospital has allowed ten women to choose the date for their Caesarean births.
Sonia Ducie, author of \'\'Numerology: Your Personal Guide For Life\'\', said the number 10 has powerful properties - made all the more potent by repetition.
\"Ten is the number for wisdom, because it contains the essence of all the numbers of one to nine within it,\" the Daily Mail quoted her as saying.
\"And the number one, which features three times in tomorrow\'\'s date, is all about focus, new direction, raw energy and rebirth.
\"It\'\'s the perfect day to decide to go for a job interview because having all these number ones behind you will help achieve your goal,\" she added.
But not everyone believes tomorrow will be lucky, with the Internet awash with fears that a computer virus could strike.

People are searching for all sorts of meaning in this unique date.
Christians do not put their trust in astronomy or numerology. We believe God who created the heaven and earth including everything in the known and unknown space directs our lives and runs the course of the season. Read an article about astrology and the Bible HERE
Numbers have special significance in the Bible.

The Numbers in the Scriptures!(Do they Carry any Spiritual Significance?)

by Tony Warren

There are many Christians who think that when God put numbers in the Bible there was no spiritual significance to it, and neither should we apply any meaning to it other than the number itself. But even if we were to look at this issue superficially, we can readily see that there is some method and certain numerical symbology to the use of numbers in scripture. The consistency in their signification in certain situations testifies to this. There is most certainly a great Spiritual defining in the application of many of these numbers. We are often inclined to underestimate God and what He has planted within His Holy Word. There is far more in the scriptures than can be understood in one man's lifetime, and we can only glean the surface of this storehouse of information. For we see through a glass dimly and know only in part. In this brief study we will look at some of the numbers that carry spiritual or symbolical significance, and examine many of the passages where they are found. Our hope is that this study might help you discern some of the truths which God has ordained that these numbers should illustrate

Meaning of Numbers in the Bible

Number Ten(10)
Previous Number - Next Number
The Number Ten
It has been already pointed out that ten is one of the perfect numbers, and signifies the perfection of Divine order, commencing, as it does, an altogether new series of numbers. The first decade is the representative of the whole numeral system, and originates the system of calculation called "decimals," because the whole system of numeration consists of so many tens, of which the first is a type of the whole.
Completeness of order, marking the entire round of anything, is, therefore, the ever-present signification of the number ten. It implies that nothing is wanting; that the number and order are perfect; that the whole cycle is complete.

Noah
Noah completed the antediluvian age in the tenth generation from God.

The Ten Commandments
The Ten Commandments contain all that is necessary, and no more than is necessary, both as to their number and their order, while the Lord's prayer is complete in ten clauses.

The Lord's Prayer
The Lord's prayer is completed in ten clauses. *
* These clauses have the significance of their respective numbers:—
The first, God's sovereignty.
The second, Jehovah's manifested Name.
The third, the realization of God's kingdom.
The fourth first mentions the earth.
The fifth, the gift of grace supplying our need.
The sixth treats of man's sin.
The seventh pleads for spiritual guidance.
The eighth pleads for final deliverance from all evil.
The ninth sums up the divine glory (32), while
The tenth completes the eternal cycles.

Let us put our trust in God who made the starry hosts and appoints times , seasons and dates. The centuries roll from the tips of His fingers. A thousand years is like a day in the Lord 's sight.

26 Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing. (Isaiah 40 - Old Testament , Bible)

Psalm 118:24This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Bible)

So rejoice on 10/10/10

In Judaism there is one medieval and very interesting movement - Cabala. Sometimes people mistake it with ezoteric and occultism, but in reality there is a big difference. Jewish Cabbalists have very developed system of mystic numbers.
I like also look on my mobile phone or on the clock when it is 11.11 am. I was born 11th January - so it's also interesting date.

Thank you Gerry, wish you a good time with Dante.

Hi Zimb, I know a little bit about Kabala , it has strange practices and beliefs, I think in oposition to the Bible. I will make a study of it. Famous stars and pop singers hav e made it their religion.

In th e Bible numberds have no magical or lucky, un-lucky sinificance which is believed by numerologists.

I know about it Amrita - I only wrote it as curiosity.
Bible damns all kinds of divinations and magic. But I know people who do it, and call themselves Christian. Before my convertion I had been interested in astrology. After this I threw out all my books about it.

It's a pretty complete research you did on the significance of the 10-10-10 date this century. Many people have ascribed different beliefs and interpretations to this most auspicious date especially those who indulge in numerology. For me, the most auspicious dates in all of mankind's history are the birth and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. These events have changed the course of man's history by ushering in the grace of salvation to all who will believe and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior thereby assuring themselves of salvation and eternal life. No other dates could be more earth shaking and significant than these dates. Thanks for the post. God bless you always.
