This is the way the cookie crumbles

Got up early in the morning to bake chocolate chip cookies to serve after church this evening. I have to finish all my electricity related chores before 10 am when the power goes off till 1 pm or after. Got everything ready only to discover that my chocolate wouldn 't stay chipped, it melted. I don 't have the correct chocolate, I just bought the ordinary chocolate slab thinking it would work. So I made some iced cookies and some choc. cookies. The chips are missing...cry...cry.I was doing this because the chocolate chip cookies available in the shops are so expensive , I thought I 'd make my own to economize. But this is the way the cookie crumbles.

Aw, too bad for the chips being melters. I too love baking choc chip cookies. I have a recipe shared with me from my great aunt who taught me to make them.

Well Amrita that cookie looks, smells and I am sure tastes good ..with or without the chocolate chip..you might have to travel to Canada to bake the real north american cookie :) Here in Chennai my grandmother's recipe of what is called rose cookies.. falls off a rose shaped steel utensil to hot oil..it is quite tasty ..JJ

I am afraid that I just now buy these things in the shop...if I was near my children and grandchildren I am sure I would still be baking them myself to hand out as treats. But I am not. So I can buy a little bag of yummys at the shop that contains only five cookies and that is enough for my Dad and myself!

Well, a homemade cookie is a homemade cookie. They are all yummy, even failures, if eaten while they are still warm!

Spectacular failures are always a sign of spectaculr effort :)

Hi, Amrita -
I'm back again today. I notice that you posted a comment about the mural my husband is painting in my son's room. That is Delicate Arch, a desert sandstone arch that is sort of iconic here is Utah. It's on Utah license plates, etc... Nathan loves to go there.

I was telling a friend that you and I were visiting each other's blogs, and she would like me to ask you a question. Maybe, if you're fond of cooking, you can answer it. She would like a recipe for an Indian dish called palak paneer, and she wonders if it's common to your region and if you have a recipe?

All cookies are good cookies, especially those made at home! I'm sure they will get eaten, I know they would in my house!

Those cookies look so good I wanted to eat them off the Internet. Chocolate or no chocolate. That is so amazing to me since the US doesn't turn our electricity off unless we don't pay our bills. I continue to keep you in my prayer!
