Obama - Through Indian Eyes

In India Obama 's inauguration is making front line news. There is a lot of interest in this event. All the news channels will be broadcasting it live from Washington DC. Mum and I will be watching. It will be late night for us

Dr Vishal Mangalwadi (top photo) has delivered a series of lectures on Barrack Obama and the Bible. You can view them on his YouTube site
This is his introductory talk
How the Bible has shaped western civillization

A short while ago I saw this song on TV and found it on YouTube.
Its a hindi song in praise of Obama. I am not an Obama fan.
If you read the sub-titles it says Obama worships the Hindu god Hanuman. Young India is treating Obama like a demi-god.Hope he does not disappoint them.

Thank you so much for sharing this, Amrita! Dr. Mangalwadi speaks several great truths here. I will scoot over to his website as I would like to hear more of what he has to say. You are doing a great service by giving us the view from your homeland!

Thank you for sharing this. He has some interesting insight and points out things I have never thought of. I appreciate that he can talk about America without putting it on a pedestal or demonizing it. The American culture has its strengths, to be sure, but it also has weaknesses and is in need of evangelization and intercession.

Hello Jan and Gail,
Dr Mangalwadi is a deep thinker and extremely insightful. He has authored books on Hinduism, the world of gurus, the new age and missionaries like William Carey and Graham Stains.

I have posted a hindi song written in praise of Obama. Young India is pinning a lot of hope on Obama - hope he does not disappoint them.

I really appreciate Vishal's thoughts--wisdom from on high. Reminds me just a little of Ravi.

As for that statement that Obama worships Hanuman, that is just pure fabrication.

God brought Obama into authority and I will pray for him as Scripture exhorts me to pray for our leaders. His leadership will affect Canada where I live.
Hope you all are well. Continuing to pray.
Love, Sita

It is always so interesting to see how the other parts of the world view the USA. I am not an Obama fan. I do pray that Jesus will work for good over the next 4 years in our country and in this presidency. It scares me to think that people put a man up so high that they think of him that way. Thanks for the insight. Blessings.

Hi Amrita,
So much hope is pinned on President elect Obama. I hope he will not disappoint the whole world who look up to him as a modern messiah. And I really hope he is not the prophesied Anti-Christ. Thanks for your post. God bless you always.

Sita is correct. this man does not worship this Hindu God, neither is he the anti-Christ!

Any believer who pins hope in any man is forgetting that we are to put our hope in God and His Kingdom is not an earthly one and operates on different principles.

It is important to remember that there are Christian Democrats and Christian Republicans and so sweeping statements that polorize are not the best thing.....God raises people up and He removes them..He is the one in charge and so I will also pray for this man and His family - giving thanks that he has a heart for many things that are good.

I'm not an Obama fan either. His newest limo is called the Beast. Sounds familiar? Regardless of how I feel, I need to pray for him. May his decisions be guided by God given wisdom and understanding. May he align his heart to God's purposes for Israel.

Thank you for sharing this with us. It's interesting to hear how other peoples' percieve Obama. Interestingly, it's quite similar to the image he's crafted here. His supporters and the news prop him up as this 'messianic' figure - able and compassionate to solve all of our problems! I didn't know the worship of Obama was so widespread!

Seeing as God has put President Obama into power, we as Christians must pray for him.eh?...Love Terry

Hi Amrita-

Wow!!!
Your blog looks great...love the template you picked, did you do it yourself?

I am not an Obama fan either, very disappointed in his election. I am praying that He follows God-praying seriously for my country under his leadership. I am very concerned for the unborn, as he has no value on their lives.
