Ours is not to reason why

My Pastor designed this calender for 2008 and produced a CD of Christmas songs composed by his boss, who is a renowned Christian composer. He gifted us copies of them. Thank you Pastor.

Today when the lights did not go off at 10 am I was surprised.(We have daily power rostering between 10 am and 1 pm)Mom reminded me that it is the Muslim festival of Bakri Id (goat sacrifice) so the power dept was very gracious to us.

I took advantage of the power supply and washed extra clothes. We have a battery operated generator but we can 't run a heavy equipment on it.

Today my web browser is giving me a lot of trouble. Its very slow and skittish.

Overloaded myself with such a lot of house chores (maid 's on holiday)
cleaning
cooking

laundry
sorting stuff
entertaining guests
church work

that I got pretty stressed out by mid-afternoon.

More people arrived and I asked Mom to attend to them. just needed time out
----------------------

I liked this arty Christmas tree (India Handicrafts) Pretty easy to set up and light. Mine is heavy, think it weighs 100 pounds.Gift from my sister.I 'm putting it up tonight. I 'll put up a photo when I am done. Like quick easy trees.I sound so ungrateful
My Tanenbaum is giving me the creeps.Everytime I pass by the living room I jump thinking someone is standing there.Maybe I 'm just falling apart.
Brain Drain!
.-------------------------
Got a phone call from my BIL Prem from New Brunswick, CA. He won 't be able to visit us early next year as he is not getting leave. Pretty disappointed. But what can one do. Ours is not to reason why...
Romans 8:28 "God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."
I comfort myself with that verse when disappointment strikes. But I never deny that I am disappointed.

What a great thought to leave at the bottom of your post - to find comfort in Romans 8:28....but not to deny when disappointed. I think everyone can relate to your honesty.
I like that tree too!

A beautiful post Amrita and I too appreciate your honesty in writing your thoughts and feelings. I can't imagine power rostering but can imagine it happening here if people don't use wisdom with the resources God has given us. It might not happen in my life time, but it surely could for my grandchildren.
May God bless you.

I sympathize. It's easy to get so busy with a major holiday coming.

how this spoke to me as well, not to deny disappoint but to know that God works within it for my good through his love. a perspective i have never considered. thank you, sister.
