Peaceful Christmas

Here is an excerpt from an email I got from Dr Mangalwadi
Thank you for your prayers for Orissa: major Hindu groups have called off the agitation planned for Christmas Day. This is a huge relief. However, some Christians are still cautious because (a) not all players are a party to the cancellation, (b) grassroots level groups are still capable of creating large scale chaos, and (c) some extremist groups would like to embarrass the relatively moderate Hindu leaders who called for "reconciliation and dialogue."
Continue to pray for lasting peace.

today is "boxing day" here in Canada ... my aunt and i will go to our local stores to see what discounts they have for seasonal things ... not that we really need anything, but it will give me an excuse to get out and have some time with my auntie ...

I'm so glad things calmed down in Orissa AND with the couple at your church. Prayer is not just an idle pastime! I so enjoyed your beautiful post about your parents' wedding anniversary, especially their portrait. I pray for strength and courage for your mother. Thank you for coming by my place and all your well wishes. Shalom, Beautiful Sister!

Dear Amrita,
Glad to learn you and your church are fine.
The tragedy of Orissa was mentioned on the news in Norway, which in return made many churches pray for India.
Hope that Christ will hold his protecting hands over all Christians in India.

The world is a sea of humanity always at strife with itself. I do pray that peace will settle in your beloved India and that Christ's love that none should parish will be preached without fear or retribution. I pray for your anxiety and your mom's depression. May God, Jesus fill your hearts with his Peace and cradle you both in His hands.

Hugs & much love,

Thank you dear friends for praying for the church in Orissa and our protection. In God 's provision the agitators called off their activities.Last year the Christians in Orissa had a very violent Christmas.

My Mom was happy to have the visitors. Her younger sister came to see her after a long time.Sometimes she gets overwhelmed
by company. On Christmas Day she was low, maybe she was missing my Dad and the 50th wedding aniversary they would have had. But she is OK now. And tomorrow my adopted sister Sonia (remember her?) is coming with her son Abner and hubby.I am getting the house fixed up etc.

I want to welcome Linda to my blog. Linda you are an acomplished writer and poet.
