With Thankful hearts

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone

Jehovah God is our light and our Protector. He gives us grace and glory. No good thing will He withhold from those who walk along His paths Psalm 84;11 - The Living Bible

--------------------------------------------

Garden produce

(L) Radish and spring onions

(R) Aubergine/brinjal/baigan and coriander or cilantro

Does anybody feel the same way? The photos which I click and upload take longer to upload on Blogger etc. than the ones I scan and save. Why?

My office connection is super fast so it does not take long at all. But at home, with a dial up connection, it takes forever.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

Oh Amrita,I envy you having your own vegetable garden! Are they organic?
Here,I only have pots of coriander & parsley once in a while..
I have the same experience as you do.Scaned picture are uploaded quicker.Cant say its because of our internet service, we use DSL.

Happy Thanksgiving Day to you too!
(though not celebrated here)

hey Amrita!
I see that you've seen that I stole your picture! Coral loves Elmo -- I couldn't help but share that Thanksgiving pic with them!

Regarding your pictures ...

Are you by-passing the step of downloading the pics from your camera to your desktop? I have never uploaded directly from camera to blogger because I like to organize my pics on my desktop for keeping. The extra time may be related to the "device" and not the actual picture file.

The scans are probably smaller?

Happy thanksgiving to you too!!!
Thanks for the great photography and recipes:)

I did not know it was thanksgiving so thanks to you I know now, are you celebrating it too? We here in Holland don't, or some might do celebrate it... i don't really know the meaning....

I Invite you to look+listen(music) at my PARIS slide show:) This show is giving you a small idea of the French food-drinking-habits . Be welcome:)

Amrita,

About the uploading photo's difficulties:
-Can you see/findout, how BIG ( whats the size)of the individual photo's are in BYTES?
-Are they in MB's size or KB's size?
- MB is too big, make them smaller
- KB is fine , they do OK on blog.
*
Explanation: both MB or KB, are bytes or pixels, which are telling you the size of each indidvidual photo, only KB's are better because they are smaller in size, so therefore easier-quicker- to upload onto blogger....

It might be a BIG help to make them smaller,MB's are mostly too big, you might change them into KB's.

HOW?:
You might try to use a photo-program such as 'picasa 2', you can download that program on the site of 'Google', otherwise.....
or,
Ask someone nearby in your city, to learn/help you HOW to make the size of each individual photo smaller by photoshop - that program can change each photo in a smaller Jpeg size...( you were having that program right?)

Good luck!

Hi. Nice post. A photo can have the same size (in pixels) but the compression can be more or less. More compr. is less quality but it uploads faster because it's smaller in MBites. You can find it on your camera also if you choose less quality ( not size ) the number of photos on the card is larger. Hmmmm....I hope you can do something with this.

Hi Amrita --
Do you have a good picture-editing program? You can download for FREE PhotoFiltre". It is what I use all the time and is comparable in quality to programs you would pay hundreds for in the store. It is developed and maintained by professionals.

Click on the link above then click on "Download now". Follow the instructions to save the download. Then doubleclick on the icon that should appear on your desktop in order to actually load the program on your computer.

Just a couple of simple things with that program will get you started -- if you want help, email me :)

Hi Amrita -- good and bad:
"Good" is to hear that you downloaded the program and find it useful!

"Bad" is that I realize I gave you the WRONG LINK! Phooey! The program you downloaded is free for 30 days only!

I'll send you a link for the free Photo Filtre when I have a bit more time to find it! In the meantime, you can enjoy this one for 30 days and become well acquainted with the basics! Most of these programs are very similar to each other in how they operate.
